The first crash, which involved a military vehicle, happened on I-81 northbound just .6 miles north of Exit 65: US 11/15 South and North to Enola/Maryville at 2:35 p.m. on April 19, according to PennDOT's 511PA.

The lane restriction caused delays.

Daily Voice reached out to officials for more information. PennDOT spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler initially told us that the I-81 crash has "No injuries are being reported right now."  But said there is "rubbernecking southbound."

The second multi-vehicle crash was possibly caused by that rubbernecking at the Exit to I-81 in Carlisle from US 11 South. It happened at 3:44 p.m. and there was also a lane restriction, according to 511PA, but that roadway appears to have reopened around 4:30 p.m.

As delays continued on I-81 around 5 p.m. Schreffler emailed the following statement in part:

"A military vehicle hauling a trailer was involved in a crash at the entrance to the 81 bridge. We know another vehicle (pick up truck) was involved, but now how. No injuries were reported. It appears the trailer flipped over. Tow is on the scene, but not sure what time the left and center lanes northbound will be reopened."

At 5:13 p.m. Schreffler emailed that I-81 had fully reopened.
